Foyle Foundation

As part of Leeds Art Gallery’s refurbishment Leeds Art Fund was granted an award of £20,000
towards refitting and refurbishment of the Henry Moore Lecture Theatre (HMLT) by The Foyle
Foundation.

We are very pleased to announce that The Foundation grant has been very successful. The ‘success
factors’ of the project can be seen in the public impact LAG has had since its reopening in October
2017. LAG has welcomed over 260,000 visitors to the gallery since it reopened in October 2017 with
the reopening receiving an extensive amount of press as LAG was featured over 70 times in relation
to the reopening alone, including BBC, Museums Journal, Frieze.com and The Times.

The Foundation grant has significantly improved visitor experience through increased and enhanced
collection display of AV works that encourages and facilitates learning and community activity. It has
enabled new activities and events to take place within the gallery such as artist talks. The Leeds Art
Fund are delighted that our partnership has enabled this vital support and look forward to our
ongoing programme in collaboration with Leeds Museums and Galleries.
