What a treat for members! A lovely introduction by Olivia, our Events organiser, to Caroline Krzesinska, our speaker, and an exciting giant screen ready for our audience. We were also joined by members of the Eurich family.

Caroline detailed the complete and varied career of Richard Eurich, (1903-1992), with pp projection of his art works. Born in Little Germany, Bradford, Father a medical scientist, Richard good at drawing and studied at Bradford School of Art, the Slade School, London, sold work in commercial galleries, became an official war artist in 1941, and was awarded an RA in 1953. We were told how he had an immense store of personal memories and imagination, for his Edwardian childhood, portraits, Yorkshire skies, moors, coasts, beaches and of Cornwall. Later works of night skies in a style often difficult for people to understand.

During all this detail, plus a myriad of images on screen, Caroline’s water glass was magically topped up by Olivia, Leeds Art Fund really look after their guest speakers! To follow, our audience were equally looked after with shiny glasses of wine, fruit juice and accompaniments, all brilliant!
